Autumn
Studio Tour Marks the
14th Year
One of the artists on the Apsley Studio Tour for her fourth year is Stefanie Clark. After settling in the area 10 years ago, she and her partner, Petrus Boots are Art Unseen Studio & Gallery. “Art Unseen is who we are; we are not in galleries, or not doing shows, but we aren’t going away, we are focusing on our art” She uses pen and ink as well as colored pencil on artboard and is also very excited by Computer Generated Images (CGI). With her main inspirations coming from nature and the effect of light and shadow therein, it is not surprising that much of Stefanie’s work features wildlife.
Most recently, Stefanie was responsible for
the You can see Stefanie Clark’s work during the Apsley Studio Tour on September 15th and 16th. Art Unseen is located at 761 Jack Lake Road and open Wednesday to Sunday 11AM-5PM. When you see the sign, be prepared to feel like you’re visiting a friend, rather than going to a gallery. Illustrations: Siberian Tiger, pen and ink, 15"x 20". ![]() Coe Hill Agricultural Society Celebrates 125th Anniversary by Caroline Elder |
|
COE HILL AGRICULTURAL FAIR HISTORY The Coe Hill Fair was founded in 1882. The first Fair was held in Salem, two miles north of Coe Hill. The second Fair was then held in Coe Hill with the first exhibits in the Town Hall. The horses raced from the hall to the Cenotaph and back on the main street. In the early 1900s the Fair moved to its present location. A grandstand was built prior to 1920, partly for the Fair and partly to seat fans of the champion Coe Hill baseball team. Before cars became numerous, a special train came from Trenton each year. Many barns and buildings have been added to the grounds. In 1969 the CNR Station from Coe Hill was moved to the fair grounds and set up for display. In 2007 we celebrate our 125th year. Many new things have been done to better the Fair. Repairs on buildings, new bleachers for your comfort, new fences for protection. Grounds are used for ball diamond, Canada Day, Warriors Day, picnics, reunions and more. We trust that many more improvements will be completed over time. |
