  Apsley Village Market

Apsley Village Market

by Sandy Zimmerman

On behalf of the North Kawartha Community Development Association, I would like to send our many, many thanks to those volunteers who helped to realize the Apsley Village Market and the planters and benches around town. We weren't a large group, but we certainly were able to work hard ---and to show what a motivated group working together can accomplish! Congratulations! What a great beginning!

Thank you...

On behalf of the North Kawartha Community Development Association, I would like to send our many, many thanks to those volunteers who helped to realize the Apsley Village Market and the planters and benches around town. I would like to thank the builders: Graham Allen, Roy Allen, Doug Hutton, Chris Lakeman, Joe MacNab, Tom Osborne, Judith and Del Manary, Rolf Suhr. And the people who came out early in the morning to place the planters, add the soil, and plant the flowers: Kathy and King Baker, Carolyn Boyd, Chris Lakeman, Joe MacNab, Meredeth MacKay, Judith and Del Manary, Sally Rand. If I have inadvertently forgotten anyone, please accept my apologies – and my belated thanks. We weren't a large group, but we certainly were able to work hard ---and to show what a motivated group working together can accomplish!

Many thanks to Stefanie Clark and her talented student crew from Apsley Public School. The murals are wonderful. Their colour and vitality add so much to the market site!

Others have worked hard to make the market a reality: Caroline Elder, our press release person; Paul Hill and Maria Spahr who facilitated everything related to the market; the vendors who set up so attractively that it was impossible to resist buying! Last, but certainly not least, our market manager, Meredeth Mackay and her assistant, Carolyn Boyd. Congratulations! What a great beginning!
