Apsley Women's Institute Hosts 2007 Peterborough District Annual
by Shirley Allen

On this past May 7th, Apsley Women's Institute hosted the 2007 Peterborough District Annual, with more than 50 members from seven differant branches in attendance. Our theme for the event was "Then and Now", and each branch honoured both their newest and longest serving members. Apsley branch’s honourees were Kathy Lenters as newest member and Rosalie McColl, who recently received recognition from the Queen for 65 years of service to the Women's Institute. Thank you to all who made this event possible, including the line dancers for their great entertainment.

Members of the Marvel Rapids Men's Golf League ventured...
to Keene to play a new course. The rules were a little different in that one golf ball was used for 5 gentlemen teeing off at the same time - as per demonstration. They had started out with in excess of 8 players but only 5 were left for the picture. Luckily the photographer had taken his medication and was not injured in the taking of this picture. And they say hockey is tough!
