At Marvel Rapids Golf Course on Sat., July 26th was a resounding success, raising over $4,500 for literacy programs at the library and learning centre.  The organizers were overwhelmed by the support of the community; this event would not have been possible without Joe Hotrum of Boyer Pontiac Buick, the hole sponsors, BBQ sponsors, prize donors, golfers, and volunteers.  Partnership with the amazing people at Marvel Rapids ensured an exciting and successful tournament.

Terry Jackson won a golf bag for his putting prowess.  Jason Boyer won 1st prize for being closest to the pin on the 4th hole.  2nd prize went to Bill Raspberry.  Lorianne Allen made the women’s longest drive, Victor Tanner made the longest drive among the men.  Matt Durst was closest to the pin on the 9th hole.  Matt Durst, Tim Crawford, Dylan Durst and Chris McPhail were 3rd in the tournament.  Jason Boyer, Joe Hotrum, Kevin Schomberg, & Richard Vandeven came in 2nd place, with Rob Roy, Cal Smith, Al Smith & Don Smith winning the tournament.

Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all those who took part.  The organizers would also like to acknowledge the support of the wonderful volunteers.  It was a great day for literacy, maybe next year someone will win a car…
