Apsley and Area Brochure

brochure

by Abe van Duelmen

The first printing of a new brochure titled “Apsley and Area – Naturally in the North Kawarthas” has been in circulation for about six weeks now.

The need for such a brochure was identified at a North  Kawartha Community Economic Development meeting. Guidance was provided by the Apsley Committee of the Kawartha Lakes Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber provided the funding, most of which was recouped by advertising sales.

The brochure stresses the four-season aspect of the area, and features activities, events, and sites that visitors can enjoy. It is at once a lure as well as a planning brochure distributed by the Kawartha Lakes Chamber and its members.

The map ignores political boundaries, putting Apsley in the centre of an area including Burleigh Falls to Paudash Lake and Anstruther Lake to Coe Hill.

The committee wishes to thank the advertisers who made the brochure possible &t the N. K. Lifelong Learning Centre for their support and contribution to the text, and all the people who submitted  photos. We regret that credit was not given to Joe Kashack who supplied the photo of two children proudly displaying their catch. This and another glitch regarding the size of the new provincial park will be corrected in the next printing.

The brochures can be picked up at the Chamber office in Lakefield and at local businesses. Send one to your friends, relatives, and other potential visitors!
