Jack's Lake Lodge

2003 promises to be a different year for us after 29 years as proprietors of Jack's Lake Lodge, we have made the decision to sell half of the business. The decision was not easy, mainly because of our clients. We have shared so many wonderful memories with you and your families and for that we would like to thank you.

The sale takes effect June 10, when the portion of the property that contains the general store, arcade and beach will be under new private ownership. We will retain the three cottages on the other side across the bridge, near the hill and will still be known as Jack's Lake Lodge.

Fishing licences will be available at Forest Glen Marina. Fishing and Hunting Licences will be available at Watson's Gas Bar.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your patronage. Although change is not easy we must remind ourselves that change is often for the better and we look forward to seeing what the future holds.

Nancy & Joe Kaschak

Thank-You.

I would like to thank everyone for their prayers, cards and inquiries while I was in Credit Valley Hospital, Toronto General Hospital and recuperating at my daughter’s home this winter. Your concern was greatly appreciated.

Sincerely, Katie Welton

‘Toot Your Horn’ to Celebrate Volunteers

Community Care  invited everyone to help  celebrate volunteers during Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 27th to May 3rd.    They said ‘Toot Your Horn’ as you pass the Community Care office or when you pass someone who you know is a volunteer.
Volunteers provide so much to our community, often quietly, in the background.  Imagine...  without volunteers many social, and cultural events would not take place. Without volunteers some people would go without a special turkey dinner or gifts to open at Christmas. Without volunteers there would be no one to help raise funds for agencies that provide most of our social services.  Without volunteers there would be no sports teams or events for our children. Without volunteers there would be no Meals on Wheels, no Diner’s Clubs, no one to provide a Friendly Visit and no one to drive for those who cannot drive themselves.  Can you imagine your community without all these things? In Apsley we  invited Community Care volunteers to attend a luncheon on April 28th . Please help us celebrate these wonderful volunteers. Remember to ‘Toot your Horn’ for volunteers.  Contact:  Peggy Downey 656-4589
