Community Bike Rodeo
The Annual Bike Rodeo was bigger and better than ever before with over 100 in attendance. Perhaps it was the free hot dogs and drinks provided by Apsley Lions... Before, during and after the Bike Rally there was plenty of entertainment The Wilson Park Karate Club , started off by giving an ongoing demonstration of their skills

Then came the registration, bike inspection and repairs by the able crew of Dave Hisson, Bryan Barnes and Michelle Meddings. While this was taking place, the O.P.P.  Canine Unit did their show.  The enthusiastic dog handler, Officer Don Shearer (who also boards the dogs at his house) was pleased to answer questions. These dogs have been taken to work on cases in Quebec and Newfoundland.

While the Bike Parade and obstacle course were underway, the O.P.P. escorted the bikers on an 11 km run. The younger entrants and the spectators were being amused by the magicians. The adults not only enjoyed the show themselves but got the added pleasure of watching the children as they earnestly stretched forward in their seats to see better and hear the comments such as “WOW” and “HOW DID THEY DO THAT?”  It was fun time for adults and kids alike

The final event was the Award Ceremony... Then a draw for a fine mountain bike which was again a donation from  Tucker Marine. The bike was won by a happy David Matheson The committee and associates that were behind this successful show are: Gloria Barnes, Pat Baker, Debbie Walcraft, Gary Geraldi Constable Brad Filmon and all the volunteers, merchants, clubs and services.
