Thanks for your support and encouragement during the past year.  We wish everyone a Safe and Happy Holiday Season.

Apsley’s Christmas Festivities

Our Giant Christmas Tree will be up and ready for the Lighting Ceremony on Saturday December 3rd, at 6:30 PM.  Come out and enjoy a hot chocolate and sing some carols with us before the lighting of the tree.

The Christmas Parade will leave the school grounds at 2:00 PM on December 4th.  This is a community event so we hope everyone will PARTICIPATE!  Join in the fun as a participant in the parade or be a spectator.  Everyone should have a place in this great community event.

The Children’s Christmas Party is hosted by the Apsley Lions and Apsley Legion.  It will be held at the Apsley Community Centre at 3:00 PM immediately after the parade.  Santa will visit with the children while everyone enjoys warms up with  a hot drink and cookies.

Merry Christmas from the Apsley Lions, Apsley Legion and the Apsley Beautification Committee.

Lions and Medical Centre

Lion President Peter Robe, Treasurer George Ormonde, and Lion Wayne Tucker presented a cheque for $10,000.00 to Reeve Jim Whelan and Cal Taileffer, chair of the North Kawartha Medical Centre funding committee. This is Apsley Lion's Club second installment to the North Kawartha Medical Centre. What would our community be without the Lions!

SEASON’S GREETINGS
from the Medical Centre Campaign

by Cal Taillefer

I would like to thank all of those who, in a time of grief, have remembered us and had donations directed to the Medical Centre.  Other donation have benefited us: Jack King's books, bottles at Watson's, Christmas Trees at Wilson's and yard sales turned the proceeds over to us. Thanks to Marvel Rapid’s tournament (a cool $1,000). The following remembered us:  Anglican Women’s Guild, St. Mary's Cemetery Committee, St. Stephen’s Church, Apsley Men’s' Hockey the N.P.R.Ass.

Others have used birthdays and anniversaries to honour our cause; and now with Christmas that list of hard-to-buy-for folk, how about just a nice card and a donation in their honour?    Now don't get me wrong, I'm no grinch and I don't want to take the fun out of Christmas or away from the children, but this idea might help some of your giving dilemmas!

Thanks to all and may you all have a peaceful and joyous Season.
