June 28th, our annual BBQ ended our regular meetings for the  summer. A few of our talented members, very kindly, entertained the rest of us with music, song and dance while we relaxed after a great meal.

Thanks to Doug Reynolds, Bob Cottrell, Merle Post and Helen Parberry.  Ann Wilson tap-danced to "Take me out to the Ball Game".  It was a very enjoyable afternoon.

The Youth Voice

The Youth Committee was out in full force to help our local Food Bank (pictured above) by carrying their banner in the Canada Day Parade.  By the time you read this, you would have seen our information table under the Art Ways tent at the Lion’s Club Flea Market.  We would have also hosted an information meeting.  Right now we are working on a 13 & up dance that is being held on August 27th, with DJ Rob from Good Time Music out of Peterborough. A special thanks to the Apsley Lions Club and Andy Assinck for their support of this event.

You will be happy to hear that the Youth Committee and the Hollywood Hopefuls have teamed up for two nights of dinner and shows during the Storm the Trent weekend.  The shows are Kick’en Skits and a collection of scenes from some of Shakespeare’s plays.  If you would like to attend any of these events, or would like to get in touch with us, you can e-mail us at
apsleyouth@kawarthanorth.org.
